Robert Newlinds SC appointed as a Judge of the District Court of New South Wales

Banco Chambers congratulates Robert Newlinds SC on his appointment as a Judge of the District Court of New South Wales today. He will be sworn in on 29 May 2023.

Robert came to the Bar in 1990 and took silk in 2003. Although he appeared throughout Australia in cases of all kinds, he specialised in commercial law, corporations and insolvency, common law and appeals. He is particularly well known for his cross examination skills. His experience and expertise will serve him and the Court well in his new role.

Robert was a founding member of Banco Chambers in 2005. He served as Head of Chambers from 2012 to 2020. When Banco expanded and relocated to new premises in 2020, his leadership throughout that process was instrumental to its success.
