Legal 500 recognises Banco Chambers expertise

Banco Chambers' reputation as a leading Australian Chambers was highlighted in the Legal 500 2021 Guide to the Australian Bar, published today. 13 Banco Barristers were ranked, while Banco Chambers was singled out as a "top tier set" for its expertise in commercial, competition, and white collar crime matters. The Guide, which ranked Banco Chambers in Band 1 of each of those practice areas, described Banco as "one of the premier sets in Sydney that has the capacity to handle the full range of commercial disputes in addition to specialists in most discrete practice areas."

The barristers ranked were:

Senior Counsel

Peter Brereton SC - Ranked Band 1 in Commercial Disputes and White Collar Crime, and Band 2 in Competition Law - described as "client friendly"; "intelligent, considered and thoughtful"; and "a 'go to' silk where a thorough consideration of complex legal issues is required."

Kristen Deards SC - Ranked Band 2 in Tax Law - described as "a good senior tax barrister, developing a formidable reputation and will be one of the leading tax advocates. Very good to work with." 

Robert Dick SC- Ranked Band 2 in White Collar Crime - described as "great to work with, has the depth of experience necessary to be able to quickly get to the nub of an issue and provide clear direction."

Justin Gleeson SC - Ranked Band 1 in Commercial Disputes - described as "one of Australia's best advocates" and "fearless in Court and ruthlessly efficient outside it."

Ruth Higgins SC - Ranked Band 1 in Competition Law and White Collar Crime - described as "quickly becoming one of the best competition barristers in the country.  She is our first choice for Sydney competition matters."

Richard McHugh SC Ranked Band 2 in Commercial Disputes - described as having an "outstanding ability to analyse complex issues and advocate outcomes."

Cameron Moore SC - Ranked Band 1 in Competition Law - described as "an outstanding silk, highly commercial, with experience acting for the ACCC and defendants across consumer protection and cartel matters."

Junior Counsel
