Declan is an experienced barrister who appears led and unled in various courts and tribunals around Australia.
Declan has with particular expertise in competition and consumer law. His recent clients have included TPG (in proceedings concerning its proposed merger with Vodafone), the Port of Newcastle, and Aurizon. His practice is nonetheless wide ranging, taking in general commercial cases, regulatory proceedings, family law and class actions. Most recently Declan has been briefed for the plaintiffs in the “dieselgate” class action against Volkswagen, and the airbags class action against the manufacturer, Takata, and various motor vehicle companies.
Before being called to the bar, Declan was a lecturer in law at the London School of Economics, and obtained his PhD in law from the Australian National University.
